Phase II
“Oaklawn District” Lamp Post Restoration Project

May is “Preservation Month” and we were happy to kick-off the next Phase of the Historic Boulevard Lamp Post Restoration Project.  Our goal is to have all the beautiful lamp posts along the Lafayette Azalea Trail professionally cleaned, sanded, primed and repainted to preserve them into the future.  We successfully completed Phase I in Whittington Park Garden District this past spring.

We began our campaign this year by participating in the SOLA Day of Giving with Community Foundation of Acadiana. The cost for this phase is approximately $14,000.00. We have raised $7,611.23 to date.  Pictures of before and after can be viewed on Facebook and our website www.azaleatrail.org. Please consider supporting this project by adopting one Lamp Post for $150.00.  Donations can be made to Preservation Alliance of Lafayette and mailed to the address listed below.  Grants and large donations are also greatly appreciated as well.  If you have any questions, please contact me at the following address:  [email protected] or call me at 337-277-7323.  Thank you in advance for your support of preserving our historic beauty of the trail.
